Pre-Pregnancy Eating, Day 7

I was thinking the other day how cool it is to be a former egg donor and to now be using donor sperm to build our family. It just… feels good, I guess. As we read through the profiles, reviewed the medical history forms, and looked at baby pictures, I just kept smiling.
Because I know what it takes to complete the endless forms. To agonize over which baby pictures to send in. To worry if one of your medical answers will make a recipient dismiss your profile.
Given R’s heritage, our options were limited. In the end, I narrowed it down to three donors and we reviewed their profiles together. Two were a close match to R but one stood out pretty significantly. He has a similar ancestry, the same blood type as R, the same hobbies, and his responses in the essay were, “exactly what [R] would have said before [R] got old and cynical.” Heh.

The weekdays are easy. I plan out my meals the night before, prepare everything and put it in my bag, and turn a blind eye to the mountains of candy at work. I do, however, need to get more serious about the weekends. I’ll have to give that some thought. Here's Tuesday:
·         Upon Waking: 10oz Water
·         Breakfast: French Toast Oatmeal
·         Before Lunch: 28oz Water
·         Lunch: Spicy Asian Burger, Whole Grin Bun, 2t Shitake Soy Ginger Sauce, 1/2C Haricot Vertes, 1/3C Carrots, 1T Light Ranch Dressing, Pear
·         PM Snack: Banana, Orange Vanilla Greek Yogurt
·         Before Leaving: 40oz Water
·         Dinner: Veggie Fried Rice (Brown Rice, Diced Cauliflower, Kale, Onion, Sweet Peas, Bacon, Egg)
·         Extra: Sugar Free Vodka Tonic

We picked up the weight bench yesterday and got it set up in the garage. Yay! I have to say that, although I can dead lift Little K (60lbs), I have found that it’s much harder to lift actual weights. GAH. Oh! And our bench has a leg press attachment. Woot!

    1. Thanks! It's actually all me. I just want to be eating more whole foods, less refined sugar/processed foods.

And it helps pass the time waiting for CD1. :-)
