Outing Myself

I am strangely excited about tonight. At BSF, we don't do traditional prayer requests, where you sit in a circle and talk about how you're doing or what you need prayer for. Instead, you go through your Group Leader via phone and let her know our specific request. She then shares it with the group at the end of class on Monday night.

I spoke to my leader yesterday and asked her to share our prayer request for: peace and health as we prepare for our assisted cycle in February and for God's will to be done.

She was lovingly shocked to hear that I would want to share this request with the group. And so I simply explained to her how important it is to share your story, that you can't tell who is going through infertility and you never know when your story will make a difference or prompt helpful conversation.

I'm not sharing this with the group to get attention or try to make this cycle more dramatic than it really is. I am genuinely asking for prayer from women of faith as we go into this cycle. If our story ends up helping someone, great! If not, that's fine too. The same way I want to be wrapped in the Word during the next two months, I also want to be covered in prayer.

  4. Congrats on coming 'out'! I look forward to hearing whether it is liberating and puts you in touch with some IRL friend who are also struggling! We are still in the closet and I am interested to hear what it is like for people to come out!
